Marian Procession and May Crowning to be held at Notre Dame

A traditional Catholic devotion that honors Mary, the mother of Jesus, will be held on the Notre Dame campus on Sunday, May 7. The Marian Procession and May Crowning features prayer, song, Scripture and a crowning of a Marian statue.

The Marian procession begins at 1 p.m. at the Our Lady of Lourdes Grotto behind the Basilica of the Sacred Heart. The procession will pass by the Basilica and Main Building before arriving at the Our Lady of Mercy Chapel in Geddes Hall where Mary will be crowned with flowers. A reception will follow on the third floor of Geddes Hall which houses the McGrath Institute for Church Life, sponsor of the event. Families are encouraged to attend. Read More
