Nathan MacDonald is University Lecturer in Hebrew Bible at the University of Cambridge and Fellow of St John’s College. Educated at the universities of Cambridge and Durham, he taught at the St Andrew’s University in Scotland, before leading an international research team at the University of Göttingen in Germany. His research interests focus on the Pentateuch and the intersection between the history of Israelite religion and biblical theology. He is the author and editor of more than ten books. His latest book, entitled Priestly Rule: Polemic and Biblical Interpretation in Ezekiel 44, will be published in September and is the first stage in what will be a wide-ranging reassessment of the history of the Israelite priesthood.
