Young Adult Conference

For whom...

Notre Dame Vision for Young Adults (YA) is designed for those who are post-college age (22+) and up to their early 30s. Space is limited, so apply soon.

To what end...

The retreat focuses on forming character in faith during early adulthood. In 2017, Vision YA will attend to the theme of “Word Made Flesh” with a special emphasis on how to welcome the Word of God daily through disciplined listening and regular practices. Retreat sessions will address the following topics, among others:

  • Cultivating intentional balance in everyday life
  • Daily prayer and praying the Psalms as a member of the “whole Christ”
  • Allowing the Word of God to shape our life stories
  • Developing a spirituality of commitment in the midst of uncertainty
  • The gift and challenge of the parish as the stable community of faith
  • Lifelong formation through the Word and Eucharist at the Mass

In sum, Vision YA gives you the opportunity to explore the holistic integration of the various dimensions of your life for the sake of a consistent ethic of identity.

By what means...

Vision YA runs one session in the summer of 2017: July 13-16 (Thursday - Sunday), though participants may choose to stay an additional night on either side of the program. The registration fee covers all meals and program sessions, and lodging is provided to the participants free of charge.

Prayer will structure each day, with opportunities for communal and individual prayer in both liturgical and devotional settings. Speakers for the week will address such topics as relationships, work-life balance, changing expectations, transitions, and prayer. Finally, the schedule will afford ample down-time for participants to rest, reflect, and socialize.

And some details...

The registration fee for Vision YA is $325, plus a $100 non-refundable deposit. Once we reach capacity, a Wait List will be created.

The University of Notre Dame provides an ideal setting for the Notre Dame Vision YA experience. Participants will be housed on campus and will eat in our award winning dining hall. We encourage you to take full advantage of all that this beautiful campus has to offer throughout the week, from its idyllic lakes and walking paths to its athletic facilities and restaurants. Notre Dame is located 90 miles east of Chicago in South Bend, Indiana.

Vision YA is a joint project of Notre Dame Vision and the Notre Dame Character Project, both housed in the Institute for Church Life.
