Campus & Youth Ministers (CYM) Conference
We invite you to join us this summer for one of our four weeks of Notre Dame Vision for Campus and Youth Ministers (Vision CYM). Whether you send youth to our high school program or not, this will be an enriching week for you to explore again God’s call in your life and the ways in which you are responding to that call, both personally and ministerially. You will benefit from the wisdom and witness of some of the best speakers from across the country as well as from among Notre Dame’s own faculty and staff. This experience is rich in prayer and reflection, and you will leave refreshed and energized. Drawing participants from parishes, high schools, and dioceses, Vision CYM is a community of disciples who all, in some way or another, form and educate high school students in faith. At the core of what we do in ministry and teaching is who we each are as persons of faith. Vision CYM begins with this basic identity and then builds up to the work we all do to share the faith with young people. We look forward to hosting you this summer.
Notre Dame Vision CYM is for high school campus ministers, diocesan directors/coordinators of youth ministry, parish youth ministers, high school religion teachers, and all those whose ministry efforts touch the lives of teens. If you are interested in strengthening and expanding your ministry to young people; if you want to build on the Notre Dame Vision experience in your school, diocese, or parish; if you want to learn with and from a community of campus and youth ministers; if you seek continuing education and ongoing formation; if you need some time for personal renewal and refreshment, then Notre Dame Vision CYM is for YOU!
Notre Dame Vision CYM exists to support you and your ministry with young people. For five days, Notre Dame Vision CYM participants will explore the meaning and significance of vocation for their own lives, for young people, and for their ministry. This experience will include theological exploration and personal renewal with a community of campus and youth ministers from across the nation. Engaging and enriching keynotes, stimulating facilitated discussions, and prayer/reflection experiences will address various aspects of God’s call for each of us and the response of faith.
As we take an in-depth look at the notion of vocation, we look to our partner program, Notre Dame Vision, to guide our exploration. Notre Dame Vision offers young people a comprehensive experience of vocation over the course of five days. Notre Dame Vision CYM works within the same comprehensive framework by addressing the theme more closely as adults growing in faith. While each year’s experience can certainly stand alone, Notre Dame Vision CYM is experienced most fully over the course of multiple years. Our current thematic rotation is as follows:
2015: Discerning God’s Call and Responding in Faith
2016: Answering the Call to Mercy
2017: The Word Made Flesh
2017 Session Topics and Speakers are forthcoming. Speakers may vary from week to week. Please contact the Notre Dame Vision office for information on speakers for a particular week.
The University of Notre Dame provides an ideal setting for the Notre Dame Vision CYM experience. Participants will be housed on campus and will eat in our award-winning dining hall. We encourage you to take full advantage of all that this beautiful campus has to offer throughout the week, from its idyllic lakes and walking paths to its athletic facilities and restaurants. Notre Dame is located 90 miles east of Chicago in South Bend, Indiana.
There are four sessions of Notre Dame Vision CYM in 2017:
Week 1: June 19–June 23
Week 2: June 26–June 30
Week 3: July 10–July 14
Week 4: July 17–July 21
