St. Francis and the Sultan
The Encounter from an Islamic Perspective
Prof. Rasoul Rasoulipour - University Tehran
September 4, 2014
9am - 10 am
Geddes Hall - Coffee House
As director of the Center for Interreligious Dialogue at the Islamic Culture and Relations Organization Prof. Rasoulipour has contributed to several Vatican documents on inter-religious dialogue. He will share insights on the meeting of St. Francis' and Sultan Malik-al-Kamil of Egypt from the perspective of Islam.
Pope Francis embraces inter-religious dialogue. Perhaps with St. Francis in mind he said to the journalists at his first press conference on March 16, 2013:"Not everyone present present belongs to the Catholic Faith and others do not believe ... I respect the conscience of each one of you, knowing that each one of you is a child of God. May God bless you." In this spirit PROCLAIM! invites to this event with Rasoul Rasoulipour.
The event is free of charge. Refreshments will be served.
