We are happy that you and your colleagues will join us for Foundations 2018. We are in for an exciting journey together.

This website contains information you will need to plan for your stay either at Notre Dame or in New Orleans.

Acceptance and Deposit

Clicking on this link will lead you to a site of our sister program STEP under whose roof we organize all our preparatory online discussions, web streaming, and any seminar related announcements. Here, you will accept your place in the seminar section your school has been admitted

You will receive a confirmation email. Please, ignore the part about how to enter a STEP course. You will not use this process to join Sakai. We will enroll you directly in January.

This deposit will be fully refunded for teachers who have completed all seminar requirements by July 15, 2018. 

 

Teachers' Agreement - Seminar requirements

You were mailed a hard copy of your Teacher's Agreement. The Seminar Requirements are four-fold:

  1. Completing timely the assigned pre-seminar readings and online postings,
  2. Participant's full presence at the event, on campus or online,
  3. Completion of feedback/evaluations before, during and after the seminar
  4. The school team’s action plan which I will develop in collaboration with my fellow-teachers during the one-week seminar in June, posted by the deadline of July 10, 2018, and comment on at least two other online postings by July 15, 2018.

 

Travel Information - Notre Dame

We are looking forward to welcoming you on June 17, 2018, at the Eck Visitors Center on our beautiful campus. Check-in will be in the afternoon between 3:30 PM and 4:30 PM.

Driving to campus

The Eck Visitors Center is located at the south end of campus, just across the ND bookstore. We will provide you with a parking pass for the duration of the seminar.

From the north:

  • Exit at interchange 77 from I-80/I-90
  • Take Indiana 933 south to Angela Boulevard
  • Turn east on Angela and proceed to Notre Dame Avenue
  • Turn north on Notre Dame Avenue
  • Turn right on Holy Cross Drive to park in the C1 parking lot, located south of the Notre Dame Stadium and Joyce Center

From the south: 

  • Follow US 31 until it turns to join the bypass. Do not join the bypass; follow Business 31 (becomes Indiana 933) into town until you reach Angela Boulevard
  • Turn east on Angela and proceed Notre Dame Avenue
  • Turn north on Notre Dame Avenue
  • Turn right on Holy Cross Drive to park in the C1 parking lot, located south of the Notre Dame Stadium and Joyce Center

Arrival by plane

South Bend International Airport (SBN) is located 5 miles west of campus. There are cabs or Uber taxi from the airport, the fare is roughly $25 or $12, depending on the provider. You may also choose to use the Coach USA bus which goes every two hours and which will drop you off directly on campus. 

The most frequented airports are O'Hare and Midway in Chicago. Coach USA operates a bus service between both O’Hare and Midway Airports in Chicago and the Notre Dame campus. The bus departs every two hours and makes several stops; travel time to campus is approximately three hours. A one-way fare is $41; round-trip is $73. For more information, visit Coach USA.  

Preliminary schedule

The summer seminar weeks starts on Sunday, June 17, 2018, in the afternoon and ends Friday, June 22, 2018, at noon.

We will post a detailed schedule about eight weeks before the start of the summer seminar week.
