Richard J. Clifford, S.J., is Emeritus Professor of Old Testament in the Boston College School of Theology and Ministry. A graduate of Boston College (A.B.), Weston Jesuit School of Theology (S.T.L.) and Harvard University (Ph.D.), he was ordained a priest in 1966. He has served as General Editor of the Catholic Biblical Quarterly and President of the Catholic Biblical Association. He was President of Weston Jesuit School of Theology in Cambridge from 2007- 2008 and Founding Dean of the Boston College School of Theology and Ministry from 2008- 2010. Among his books are Creation Accounts in the Ancient Near East and in the Bible (Catholic Biblical Quarterly Monograph Series 26, 1994); The Wisdom Literature (Abingdon, 1998); Proverbs: A Commentary (Westminster John Knox, 1999); and Psalms 1-72, Psalms 73-150 (Abingdon, 2002 and 2003).
